We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities team at Glasgow Prestwick Airport in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. We are looking for candidates who have a ‘can do’ attitude and are willing to learn and develop.

Owned by the Scottish Government, Glasgow Prestwick Airport directly employs circa 300 people and supports over 4,000 jobs across the aerospace cluster. Situated in the heart of Scotland’s aerospace industry we offer a diverse range of in-house aviation services providing vital connections to the rest of the world.

The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and confident in carrying out various areas of maintenance work.

Requirements:

  • Ipaf and Pasma would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided
  • Driving Licence is essential.
  • Experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Use of company tablet for recording of tasks.
  • Health and Safety experience and understanding.

This is a permanent role, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0800 – 1600 hours.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the facility’s infrastructure and equipment.
  • Carry out general labour tasks as required.
  • Conduct safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and tenants.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Be knowledgeable and confident in carrying out various areas of maintenance work.
  • Identifying hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Identify, document and report maintenance issues.
  • To ensure full compliance with all Legal Legislation- Health Safety, Fire Safety, Agreed Codes and Working Practises.
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly Auditing with Corrective Action Planning.
  • Immediately report issues or failures that impact on legal legislation or service level.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst completing tasks within specified time limits and to a high standard.
  • Meet your targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Utilise digital records and maintenance software applications.
